Building a Second Brain:
The WHY?
- Recency Bias -> tendency to overestimate the value of an idea because it occurred to you recently
- Incubate your ideas. Let the ideas be accumulated and rely on the wealth of knowledge instead of thoughts on top of you head to get the best results.
- Able to connect different lines of work or thought. I think I haven't setup my PKM like that. I have ~2200 notes from approx. past three years. They are just hanging there.
- Notes from Keep notes, Obsidian, Notion, and I still want to transcribe some of the physical notes in journal
- Most important skill it seems from the book that will be in demand is that of conveying not just information but our interpretation of the information. Our unique blend of ideas and interpretations backup up by our unique sets of data in our hand. Persuading people with strong blend of data, instead of just propagating random info. Building our own unique strong foundation on the matter at hand and able to persuade people with that. This skill is too rare since (1) people don't have support systems, best ideas captured, noted, and connected to give birth to new perspective and (2) People don't spread themselves across domains and gather information across fields.
